Thanks for reading my blog Kirsten. I should have pointed out there are exceptions and I have added that to my blog. As a lawyer I just took that for granted. This particular complex however in my opinion would be a public accomodcation facility. It operates much like a hotel with vacation rentals.
It is unconscionable though to deny an elderly person who has had dogs their entire life to be denied replacing a pet that passes away. Most Pet Parents can’t imaagine living without their dog and find great comfort when the time is right in getting another dog when one dies.
Addocring the residents, there is no basis for this new rule; its without merit and without any incidents of problems with dogs…just a board that has nothing to do but pass new regulations. Face it…if all you have to do all day is watch the residents writing unnecessary regulations become your purpose.
I admire your organization and continue to marvel at the wonderful service dogs supply to those in need and to their human trainers who make this possible.
